Airway Clearance Guide

This document is intended to be a guide to airway clearance therapy. It is not a set of clinical practice guidelines, but rather a practical guide. With knowledge comes power. We hope that after reading these pages, respiratory therapists are empowered to skillfully apply airway clearance therapy to the right patient at the right time using the right approach. Airway clearance therapy might be overutilized in some settings. Armed with knowledge, respiratory therapists can contribute to the appropriate allocation of this therapy. Our intent is to help the respiratory therapist match the best therapy to the individual patient. Ultimately, we hope to improve patient outcomes through the respiratory therapist's knowledge.

The Airway Clearance Guide is a web-based course with PDF documents available for download. The course program also provides the flexibility to complete at your individual pace, wherever and whenever best fits your schedule.

Course Overview and Credit Information
Participants can earn 1.0 hour of Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) for each individual chapter completed.
Upon successful completion of all course modules (a total of 12 chapters), learners will receive a certificate of completion.

A score of 2 out of 3 on the post-chapter quizzes is required to receive credit.
