Adaptive Support Ventilation in the Cardiac ICU
Description: This course will provide information on how Adaptive Support Ventilation can be used to wean patients recovering from Cardiothoracic surgery using ASV to achieve faster extubation times with fewer alarms, more safety, and fewer caregiver interventions.
Approved for 1.00 CRCE Hours.
SEMINAR OBJECTIVES
Attendees will learn how ASV is a closed-loop ventilation mode, using Artificial Intelligence (explicit computerized protocol) to wean certain patient populations from mechanical ventilation faster than conventional weaning modes.
Attendees will learn how ASV uses lung protective strategies while allowing the pt to wean using support and control ventilation, depending upon patient demand
Attendees will learn how ASV uses an expiratory time constant to be highly adaptive to alter ventilator settings to meet the patient demand
